Founded by concerned parents and professionals, the Newton Wellesley Weston Committee for Community Living, Inc. (NWW) has served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families since 1972. At the time, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities were being released from state institutions to community settings. Individuals who had grown up in their family homes were also in need of services.
Over its nearly forty years of operation, NWW has earned a reputation for treating each individual and family with respect and for providing services and programs that embody the best practices in the field.
NWW is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and has an elected board of directors that includes individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, family members, and members of the wider community.
Through a partnership with John Hancock, NWW has graciously been awarded two marathon numbers for the 2015 Boston Marathon April 20, 2015.
We are looking for runners interested in participating in the world's greatest marathon and raising awareness and funds for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To apply to be part of NWW's 2015 marathon team please click here.
Applications are due no later than November 21st 2014 for consideration. NWW marathon team members will be confirmed on December 1, 2014.
Questions, or to have an application sent directly to you, please contact Brenda Noel via email or call 617-620-2721.
